I don’t go for those profiles that read “goal-oriented, self-motivating PR professional” and similar. Why would you not be those things?
This site started out as something else called “53° North” in 2006. I invested some time in it, used it to practice my WordPress skills, but I let it slide a bit.
But I missed it a bit, so I re-invented it, took away some of the stuff I’d been using for practice, beefed it up a bit, brought it firmly into the responsive 21st century web age, and thus Eeyore’s Gloomy Place was born. I don’t write constantly and it can read like a diary sometimes, but there you go. I go through fits and starts: there were lots of posts when I stood for election earlier this year, there’s a bit of a lull between 2009 and 2011. It depends on having something to write about and the time to marshal my thoughts and write it.
As to the name: well, I admit I’ve never had my tail stolen, been bounced into a river or had my house stolen and moved across the 100 Aker Wood, but in most other respects I thoroughly empathise with the silly old donkey…
